Jingle Bells by Barbra Streisand

I absolutely despise, without a doubt, Christmas cookie making. I am not a baker by nature and I feel sorry for my kids who will have to miss out on this time honored tradition. At times I almost feel as though I am betraying my grandmother by not picking up where she left off. She would show up at our house with tupperware and tins FULL of cookies. Many different varieties at that. As kids we never thought anything of it. We almost expected her to bring them... and she never disappointed us. Yummy! :)

I have all of her cookie recipes. I have made some before. Do I want to do it again? Not really. I would have to be in a real sentimental mood to do so. 

It is so much work! And yes, the reward is worth it but I just don't have the time or patience for it. So I am calling on my siblings to channel their inner Grandma Lesko in them. There's got to be a baker within our group somewhere???

Because guilt runs a majority of my life, I decided to come up with the "non cookie baking mom" solution. I bought a pizzelle press. I have been churning out dozens of cookies the last few evenings. They are relatively easy and fast. I also found that I can edit photos and bake cookies at the same time. Now how's that for multi-tasking?

Towers of pizzelle will replace the 60 chocolate cakes that I usually make every December.

Sam refers to them as The Leaning Towers of Pizzelle.

I can't keep their little hands off of them!

Kristin, as I return your bundt pan to you I will also be dropping off my kids so that they can make cut outs with you. Weirdly, in some masochistic way, you find it enjoyable!?!
