Merry Christmas.
I took a few days off and whisked myself away to the
romantic Scottish Highlands.
I read somewhere that the cheapest vacation you can get is to wrap yourself up in a book....
and that is precisely what I have done.
Our Christmas Day was decadently relaxing.
Slipping from a pair of pajamas to a fleece ensemble, watching Brian and Sam play Wii for hours, listening to Beth's imagination while she conversed with her new toy playmates, and curling up on the couch to start my vacation, that was our day.
Absolutely perfect.
The morning had been full of happy Christmas morning chaos. My mom, Patrick, and my father came over with overflowing arms of gifts. It truly warmed my heart to see the kids actually appreciative of everything they received.... honestly I wasn't expecting it.
The icing on the cake was that once the kids went to bed Brian and I cuddled on the couch and watched Love Actually. He watched it with me without one complaint of it being a British romantic comedy.
Now how's that for some Christmas magic?? ;)

P.S. I did not get my new puppy for Christmas.
(I write this in the hopes that it will make him feel a twinge of guilt, although I know better.)
;)
Valentine's Day..... maybe???

Merry Christmas to you guys too. Looks like the kids had a great Christmas. I never get pictures of Jaylin opening his presents because I am so wrapped up in the excitement of watching him.
It's part of my sick obsession with documenting life... trying to stand still the hands of time in an effort to keep every moment with them, with me, forever.
I am slowly trying to live more "in the moment" by putting the camera down a little bit more.
:)
Love the Christmas pictures. Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing holiday filled with love and fun! You deserve it. KA
P.S. How about a post-snow puppy?!
I am like that too. I take pictures of everything Jaylin does and scrapbook them. He enjoys looking at his scrapbooks. Thats why I am so surprised I don't make it a point of taking pictures on Christmas.
Jaylin has just become use to me saying "lets take a picture". It also helps when a good friend of mine is taking pictures with me when we get together =).
Brian should get some brownie points for watchng that movie, not too many men would without complaining lol. I'm sorry you didnt get a puppy. Hopefully for Valentine's Day.
