Yes, it's that time of year again.
Months of hopes and disappointments lie ahead us with the beloved NY Yankees.
Brian and some of his friends headed to NYC this past weekend for a Mets game on Saturday and the Yankees game on Sunday.
He wanted to experience the new stadiums.
The Mets stadium was 800 million while the Yankees was 1.5 billion.
When I asked him how the Mets' new place was he said, "Really nice. It's beautiful."
When asked about the Yankees... a huge ear to ear smile developed, "It's another whole world. It's gorgeous. There's nothing else like it."
So there you have it, Brian's official review.
If you'd like to see it for yourself we have season tickets.
Come for a quick NY visit!

So while Brian was living it up in NYC at some major league games, I took the kids to the minor leagues, Syracuse Chiefs. Miss Emily joined us for a fun afternoon of hot dogs, cotton candy, and peanuts. We had so much fun although Sam was mad at me for forgetting to bring his glove. We were trying to tell him that he could use his hat but he didn't believe us until the guy in front of us caught a foul ball with, guess what..... his hat!
But we didn't get lucky and thank goodness because I was starting to have little flashbacks from last summer.
Let me paint the picture for you.
It was a hot and humid August night......
Heather and I took all the kids to the game. We were sitting on the 3rd baseline in the front row. We weren't paying attention and gossiping about something when all of a sudden we heard the crack of the bat. With everything next happening in slow motion. The ball came towards us and eventually hit Heather in the foot. Well she was 8 and 1/2 months pregnant and for a few hours it was uncertain if her foot was broken or not.
Seriously we were in so much shock all we could do was laugh.... hysterically.
I will confess I wasn't the best friend I should have been because instead of trying to dive in the path of the ball and shield her unborn child, I moved out of the way and covered my head.
Don't worry she has forgiven me.... I think.
You have, haven't you?
Heather?
:)

Beth has now inherited Sam's old cap and his Mattingly jersey.

It's always interesting going on an outing with a friend that doesn't have kids.
Emily took Beth with her to get something to eat. They came back with food, stickers for Sam and the most obnoxious noise maker for Beth.
Thanks Em.
I'm already plotting my revenge.
:)

The kids taking the 7th inning stretch literally.

Sam is officially in Little League this year.
Brian is coaching his team.
And so it begins.

My mother has made remarks to me before that I have more posts of Beth than Sam.
This is why.
He is finally exerting his maleness and independence by not wanting me to take his photo.
I knew it was just a matter of time.
I do pity him having a mother with a camera permanently attached to her body.
Oh well, someday he'll appreciate it.
:)

I tried to convince the princess to get something quiet.... but had no luck.... She talked me into the noise maker!!
Yes, I have forgiven you. ;) I still laugh about it.
Looks like you all had a good time and Brian obviously enjoyed himself. My family gets Jaylin all these noisy toys, you gotta love them =). I remember when that happened with Heather, you gotta just laugh at the crazy things that happen in life lol. Poor Sam and Jaylin, they have crazy moms taking pictures of them all the time.
So cute! Glad no one got hit by a ball this time. Molly Kristin
I have to tell you honestly, I could care less about baseball, but your photos of the kids at the games are so inspiring I might just go to a game. Ask Brian if it should be an A's or Giants game...
